I will never employ any device with a digital countdown. If I find that such a device is absolutely unavoidable, I will set it to activate when the counter reaches 117 and the hero is just putting his plan into operation. ________________________________________

Aldro breathed a sigh of relief as his eyes finally landed on the bomb they had been looking for. Vess had placed it in the center of the biggest town in the world to show off his power. For some odd reason Vess and his group had made sure everyone was out of town first but it was still a big blow since they had forcefully removed everyone from the town. All so he could show off how much stronger he was then Aldro.

Aldro turned on his speaker to Tatir, “hey I found it, come to my location so we can turn the bomb off.”

He opened the display and was amazed that the timer said 7 minutes and seemed to be going along perfectly with the time. He tried to find something to mess with, without touching anything, but bombs were Tatir’s expertise and he knew little to nothing about them.

It took her two minutes to get to him but the two of them were confident that they could stop the bomb in 5 minutes, every minute counted now but they knew they wouldn’t mess up.

“Okay, I’ll go under to start figuring out what goes where. You watch the display panel if there are any changes tell me okay?” Aldro nodded, as Tatir seemed to disappear under the bomb that was on stilts matching Aldro’s height, though the bomb itself seemed to be only half his height.

The two were almost completely silent as Tatir worked the only words between them were Tatir asking for the time and Aldro telling her.

It wasn’t until what seemed like forever that Tatir said more than ‘time’, “I think I figured out what I need to do to disarm it, what does the time say?”

“It says two minutes…wait…” the time seemed to blink out for a moment, “did you do something?”

“No! What? Did something happen?”

It came back on after a moment, “oh it’s back it says by-“ with that the bomb went off taking the two out along with half the city they were in.
