The next day was stressful but she was glad to have it over.
She spent the morning relaxing instead of heading to the office, not wanting to deal with both Mosea and Vosro on the same day. She assumed Vosro knew she was in town but she didn’t want to deal with his hatred along with Mosea’s discontent. The meeting with the council and Mosea was simple enough; thankfully she didn’t have anything bad to say about the clients Menda had made since the last meeting. After the meeting with them she went back to the inn and spent the rest of the night in her room, not wanting to see people.
The next day she woke up and took a deep breath before heading to the office. She was about to open the door. When it was opened for her. Desla looked at her for a moment before smiling. "Hi boss, welcome back."
Menda waved. "Thanks. Has everything been going well?"
Desla nodded. "Yeah, we haven't gotten too many requests to fix cursed items, but since we made that deal with the guards we've been getting a major increase of ones in storage."
Menda nodded. "I'll need to step up my side of things."
"Take your time. You don't want to rush and mess up." Menda turned to Vosro who was looking over a book with a frown.
"Why can't you greet me like she does?" she asked, pointing to Desla.
Vosro looked up before looking at who she was pointing at. His frown grew. "Because I hate your guts?"
Menda sighed. "And I came because you demanded it." She muttered. "Was there a reason, or were you just doing it for fun?"
Vosro smirked at her. "And yet you have been in town for two days but I haven't heard a word from you.”
Menda quickly looked to see Desla; she hadn’t heard them as she was moving stuff around in her side office. “Don’t say that too loudly. I don’t want her to think I hate her as much as I hate you.”
Vosro rolled his eyes but didn’t say anything. He opened a drawer and pulled out a pile of papers and placed them on the desk before turning back to his book. "Some of your clients have asked for you. Did you mess up?"
She took the sheets of paper and read them over quickly to make sure before answering, "No, most have found an item and want me to check on it."
"Mahiso sounds urgent," Calbas said.
Menda nodded. "I'll probably head his way first." She reread the letters. "Anything else?"
